A portion of Route 55 was closed for more than two hours due to the crash on Wednesday, July 24, according to the NJDOT.
Troopers responded at about 4 p.m. on Route 55 north milepost 59.6, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a New Jersey State Police spokesman.
Based on a preliminary investigation, a box truck lost directional control, causing the vehicle to run off the roadway, Lebron said.
The truck re-entered the roadway and then ran off again, striking the guardrail, overturned, and struck the support pole for the overhead exit sign, he said.
The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital, he said.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available.
